Meta just showed off VR glasses, a pocket AI buddy and new Ray-Bans
Here's everything announced at Connect 2026, what it costs and when you can actually get it.
Meta held its big Connect event this week, and Mark Zuckerberg had a lot to show. Some of it you can buy today. Some of it you'll be waiting on until next year.
Here are the three main announcements.
Meta VR Glasses
This is Meta's main new product. It's a full VR headset squeezed into something that looks like a pair of wraparound sunglasses.
They weigh about 100 grams, which Meta says is five times lighter than a Quest 3. The computer isn't in the glasses. It's in a separate puck that you keep in your pocket, connected by a cable.
You get a 5K display, full color passthrough so you can see the room around you, and hand tracking, so you don't need controllers. They also work with regular Quest games, and Meta says 75 games will be ready at launch.
They cost $1,299 and don't come out until spring 2027. Battery life on the glasses is about 3 hours.
Muse Charm
The Muse Charm is a tiny AI gadget about the size of a keychain. It has a roughly 2 inch touchscreen, a speaker, microphones, a fingerprint sensor and its own 5G connection. That means it works without your phone.
It runs Muse, Meta's AI assistant, and shows Muse as a little cartoon character on the screen. People are already comparing it to a Tamagotchi. You talk to it, it answers your questions and handles tasks for you.
Meta didn't give a price yet. It's supposed to come out around the holidays in December.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3
This is the only one of the three you can buy right now. The third generation of Meta's camera glasses is out today starting at $449.
What's new compared to the last version:
They're thinner.
Battery goes up to 9 hours, one more than last time.
There are six microphones now, and Meta says they cut background noise by 90%.
The camera is 12 megapixels and records 3K video.
There are new styles, including Aviators and a cat eye frame called Zena.
One more thing
Meta also announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio. These are glasses with no camera at all, just speakers, mics and the AI assistant. They're $349 and ship October 13. They're aimed at people who want smart glasses without a camera, which has been a privacy concern with this kind of device.
What to watch for: the Muse Charm price, which Meta hasn't announced yet.
